University of Calcutta Seminar on Maths 2020

Mathematics plays a key role in the development of various branches of science as well as in the understanding of physical world problems. We would like to organize a national seminar during February 06 – 07, 2020, on recent advances in Mathematics with a view to providing platform for interaction among each other.

There will be invited lectures, paper reading sessions and interactive sessions. Young researchers will get the opportunity to demonstrate their own works and have suggestions from experts.

About Calcutta University

The Court of Directors of the East India Company sent a despatch in July, 1854 to the Governor-General of India in Council, suggesting the establishment of the Universities of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay. In pursuance of that despatch, the University of Calcutta was founded on Jan 24, 1857.

The University adopted in the first instance, the pattern of the University of London and gradually introduced modifications in its constitution.

Who can attend?

Any person other than the invited speakers and contributors of research papers, any student/ teacher/ research scholar interested in mathematics may also participate in the seminar.

Call for papers

Those who intend to present research papers in the seminar are requested to send an extended abstract (not more than 2 pages including bibliography) to the e-mail id: seminar.pmath@gmail.com by January 25, 2020.
