The Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC) in collaboration with the Department of Art, Art History and Design, College of Arts & Letters, Michigan State University, USA and Centre for Social Design, Maryland Institute College of Art – MICA, Baltimore, MD, US is organizing a certificate course on History of Social Design in India and USA with special reference to Infographics, Advertising, Human-Centered Design, and Marketing.
Banaras Hindu University, formerly Central Hindu College, is a collegiate central university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It was established jointly in 1916 by the Maharaja of Darbhanga Rameshwar Singh, Madan Mohan Malaviya, Sunder Lal and British Theosophist and Home Rule League founder Annie Besant.
In this 3 months’ part-time certificate course, we will be learning the Fundamentals of Social Design: Social Design in India and the USA. (A case study based approach). That prepares creative change makers with the tools and methods to advance equity and social justice and become pioneers and leaders in the practice. We will be introduced to social design regarding Society, Technology, Human Behaviour Shift, Contemporary India and many more aspects.
