Join students from around the world to learn new skills, build real-world products and get a taste of what it’s like studying at the University of Cambridge. The Cambridge Coding Summer School is an exciting, hands-on programme for students aged 13-18.

This international summer school is for students interested in Computing, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

In one week, you will learn how to build a game, create a web app, program photo filters, code music and more.

The Coding Summer School will teach you valuable programming skills used in all industries.

Location

All Cambridge Coding Summer School workshops are hosted at the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory. This gives students the exciting opportunity to study at one of the world’s leading universities.

Students have the opportunity to stay in residential accommodation at Queens College, for an authentic taste of student life in Cambridge.

Programme

  • This 1 week programme provides a complete introduction to Computer Science, created in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory and useful to include in UCAS applications.
  • Through project-based workshops, students will learn how to create games, develop their own websites and explore a range of fun STEM topics and real-world applications.
  • This leading curriculum is enhanced with guest lectures from industry/academia.

Activities

Day tours and social activities are there so that the students get the chance to explore Cambridge with new friends.

The week will conclude with a traditional Formal Dinner in a historic Cambridge College.

Fees

  • Residential Tickets: £ 1399
  • Save £200 if you register by 10th April 2017
  • Non-Residential Tickets: £ 699
  • Save £100 if you register by 10th April 2017

Residential Ticket

Residential ticket includes:

  • 5 nights accommodation in Queens’ College (one of the oldest colleges at the University of Cambridge). Students will have their own individual bedrooms.
  • Breakfast and cafeteria style dinner in the College.
  • Lunches for each day of the week.
  • Daily workshops lead by the expert teaching team.
  • Course materials, practical resources and hands-on coding curriculum designed in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory.
  • A programme of social activities and visits to sites around Cambridge.
  • A traditional formal dinner at a Cambridge College— true Cambridge style.

Non-residential ticket

Non-residential ticket include:

  • Daily workshops lead by  the expert teaching team.
  • Course materials, practical resources and hands-on coding curriculum designed in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory.
  • A programme of social activities and visits to sites around Cambridge.
  • Lunches for each day of the week.
  • A traditional formal dinner at a Cambridge College— true Cambridge style.

Cambridge Coding Certification Details

Get an additional Cambridge Coding Certification for £ 99 extra.

The Cambridge Coding Academy Foundations Certification is a continuous learning project and assessment designed to recognise the coding skills and techniques the students have acquired.

  • Students will receive a project and set of activities to work on independently after the summer school.
  • Students submit their work for review and receive detailed feedback to help them improve their skills.
  • Students will be awarded a Foundations Certification upon successful completion, which will be useful to include in University applications for further studies.
