BEE painting competition 2017


The Ministry of Power, Government of India invites school children to paint for clean, green and energy efficient future – sustainable future.


  • Group A: Students of classes 4, 5, 6.
  • Group B: Students of classes 7, 8, 9.

Theme Topics

Group A:

  • Ghar ho ya daftar urja bachat hai behtar (Home or office, energy saving is better)
  • Urja bachat ke sitare dost humare (Get friendly with energy saving stars)
  • Be polite, turn off the light

Group B:

  • Switch off light when outside is bright
  • No excuse for energy misuse
  • Energy saving mission, make it a passion


  • School principals are requested to organize this contest for 2 hours duration.
  • Selected students shall participate at state and national level.
  • Students can use any size of paper, preferably A4 size and painting material such as pencils, colour pencils, crayons and water colours.
  • Students can select any one of the themes marked for their respective group.
  • School principals will select 2 best paintings from each group and send them along with total number of students participated in each group at the School Level Painting Competition to the Nodal officer of the State/UT whose address is given here so as to reach him by Sep 30, 2017.
  • All participants will receive participation certificates.

  • First, Second and Third prize winners of 2015 and 2016 are not eligible to participate
  • Consolation prize winners of 2015 and 2016 will be eligible to participate but will be considered only if they secure First, Second or Third prizes.
  • Use of collage/patchwork is not permitted.
  • Two paintings at School level, sketched paintings at State/UT level and National Level will be sole property of BEE and will have the right to use it for any purpose it considers appropriate.
  • The decision of Jury/Expert committee at all levels of the painting competition will be final.
