3. ICGEB Smart Fellowship 2021 [Amount of Rs. 1.1 L]: Apply by Sep 30

The ICGEB SMART Fellowship programme promotes the mobility of researchers between ICGEB Member States as a way of enhancing skill development, acquisition of specific hands-on training in new technologies and increasing cooperation in science and technology and should show clear evidence of strong collaboration between the two laboratories.

  • Eligibility: Applicants should be either registered for a PhD or have obtained their PhD degree within the last 5 years and be actively working in a research Institution. Young scientists holding an MSc or equivalent can apply. SMART Fellowships support mobility between laboratories located in Member States. Awards are not intended to prolong visits begun under other auspices; to support participation in courses, workshops or symposia or as bridging fellowships between, or prior to, long term stays funded by ICGEB or other organizations.
  • Duration: The call is open to nationals of ICGEB Member States and provides fellowships to scientists in the early stage of their career wishing to spend between 3 and 9 months at a research institution in an ICGEB Member State other than their own.

  • Stipend: The stipend ranges from US$ 800 to 1,500 per month according to local conditions in the receiving country and seniority of the applicant.

4. ATL Space Challenge 2021 by Niti Aayog: Apply by Sep 30

Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is launching the ATL Space Challenge 2021.

The ATL Space Challenge 2021 aligns with the World Space Week 2021 declared by the United Nations General Assembly, and is celebrated from the 4 to 10 October each year at the international level, to celebrate the contributions of space science and technology.

  • Eligibility: Students (from ATL and Non-ATL schools) can submit their entries in the Challenge.
  • Application: Students can leverage the ATL Space Module (open for all; can be accessed on www.aim.gov.in) for the detailed understanding of key concepts. The final innovation can be a physical/ digital solution (App, Game, 3D Design, etc.) developed using any of the ATL Module/ Platform (open for all) OR on any Open-Source/ Free platform.

5. Sandvik Coromant Girls Scholarship Program 2021-22 [Amount Rs. 30k]: Apply by Sep 30

This scholarship program is designed for helping girls students who cannot afford quality education due to the high fees structure.

Sandvik Coromant Girls scholarship program would encourage them to counter their financial constraints and pursue academic excellence and career opportunities. This scholarship would not be applicable for Sandvik Asia Pvt Ltd employees and their children.

  • Qualification: Minimum 50% in Class 10. Student pursuing full time Three Years Diploma Course.

6. TERI Green Olympiad 2021 for School Students [Online, Class IV-XII]: Register by Sep 30

GREEN Olympiad is a premier MCQ based examination on environment and sustainable development and draws its linkage with UN Decade of ESD and Global Action Programme (GAP). It also addresses ‘Goal 4 – Target 7’ (SDG 4.7) which states, ‘ensure all learners acquire knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including among others through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development’ by 2030.

9. Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2021 by Kotak Education Foundation [Amount Upto Rs. 1 L]: Apply by Sep 30

Under Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2021, girl students who aspire to pursue professional graduation courses or professional courses pursued along with a graduation course from institute of repute (NAAC/NBA/UGC accredited) after 12th standard will be provided Scholarship to pay their academic expenses till the completion of their graduation (degree). The professional graduation (degree) courses include Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Designing, Specialised Commerce, Finance and Computer courses or professional courses pursued alongside graduation like CA, CS, CFA, CWA, LLB.

10. Edward O. Wilson Biodiversity Postdoctoral Fellowship 2022 at Harvard University [Stipend Rs. 40 L]: Apply by Sep 30

Through a generous founding gift from Edward O. Wilson, Faculty-Curator Emeritus and University Research Professor Emeritus, and with support from additional donors, the Museum of Comparative Zoology (MCZ) at Harvard University has established the E.O. Wilson Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.

This program supports postdoctoral researchers at MCZ to pursue the discovery and formal taxonomic description of Earth’s animal species.

11. Getty Scholar Grants for Residential Scholar at Los Angles [Funding Available]: Apply by Oct 1

Getty Scholar Grants are for established scholars, or individuals who have attained distinction in their fields. Recipients may be in residence at the Getty Research Institute or Getty Villa, where they pursue their own projects free from work-related obligations, make use of Getty collections, join their colleagues in a weekly meeting devoted to an annual research theme or the African American Art History Initiative, and participate in the intellectual life of the Getty.

  • Eligibility: Applications are welcome from researchers of all nationalities who are working in the arts, humanities, or social sciences.
  • Dates & Amount: Getty Scholars may be in residence from three to nine months:
    • Three-month residency: September to December, January to April, April to June: $21,500
    • Six-month residency: September to April, January to June: $43,000
    • Nine-month residency: September to June: $65,000

12. Harvard University Academy Scholars Program 2021-22 [Total Stipend Rs. 52 L]: Apply by Oct 1

The Academy Scholars Program identifies and supports outstanding scholars at the start of their careers whose work combines disciplinary excellence in the social sciences or law with a command of the language and history or culture of countries or regions outside of the United States or Canada. Their scholarship may elucidate domestic, comparative, or transnational issues, past or present.

  • Eligibility: This program is open to all recent PhD recipients and doctoral candidates in the social sciences or law.
  • Duration: Each year, four to six Academy Scholars are named for two-year appointments. Academy Scholars are expected to reside in the Cambridge/Boston area for the duration of their appointments unless traveling for pre-approved research purposes.
  • Stipend: Postdoctoral Academy Scholars will receive an annual stipend of $70,000. If selected before earning the PhD, the Scholars will receive an annual stipend of $35,000 until awarded the PhD.
